My grandfather - Akinin Ivan Fedorovich, was born on October 3, 1926 in Korenovskaya village (now it is Korenovsk city, Korenovsky district), Krasnodar Territory. He was born in a large family. Grandfather's father was a Cossack. At the age of 16 he went to the front and took the military oath on June 28, 1943. In the 17th separate artillery regiment he participated in the battles of the Second World War from April 1944 to August 1945, as well as in the war with Japan from August 1945 to October 1945. He graduated from the war with the rank of sergeant, squad leader, specialist in wheeled vehicles. After completing the combat path, he was transferred to the reserve on October 20, 1950.
