Ovchinnikov Pyotr Aleksandrovich. Home front worker. Born in 1924 beyond the Ural Mountains. When he was 17, he trained to be a welder. He produced tanks throughout the war, supported his family, two brothers and a sister. He worked around the clock, seven days a week, occasionally taking a nap. After the war he continued to work as a welder, served in the Army. He worked as a welder all his life. After retirement, even before the age of 80, he was a sought-after specialist.
