Gromov Vyacheslav Andreevich, born in 1919, native of Sergach town, Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod) Region. Participant of the mine clearance of the Finnish Mannerheim Line. After the Victory Parade in 1945 he liberated China as part of the 6th Red Banner Guards Tank Division. Lieutenant Gromov was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War 1st class and numerous Medals. Founder of the Local History Museum in Sergach, Honorary Citizen of the town, Honoured Teacher of the RSFSR (Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic).
