My grandfather Dunaev Ivan Fedorovich went to the front in 1941 and served in Infantry. He was in Prague on May 10, 1945 when war ended. During the war he was wounded more than once, because Infantry was always on the front line, and my grandfather was a courageous person, and always first to attack. For skillful, proactive and courageous actions in battle, he was awarded medal "For Military Merit". In 1942 he was awarded Order of Patriotic War for destroying 3 enemy tanks and received medal For defense of Leningrad. In 1944, my grandfather was awarded Order of Glory for capturing the enemy's banner in the battle. He was wounded for the last time during liberation of Prague under the command of Soviet Marshal Konev
