Fursov Ivan Dmitrievich, Sergeant, was born on July, 5th, 1923 in the farm of Mochagi of Ostaninsky village, Manturovsky district, Kursk region On October, 16th, 1941 he was drafted to Red Army by Manturovsky district millitary commission of Kursk region. He made his way through entire war, participated in liberation of Leningrad, Baltic States. He was was discharged on February, 4th, 1947. He took part in battles in Volkhov front (as of February 1942), Leningrad front (as of February 1944), Baltic front (from November 1944 until Victory day). He always showed courage and was awarded merits for excellent military operations in recapture of t Riga and town and large railway junction of Valga.
