Nefedov Ivan Porfirevich was born in 1920 in the village of Usovka, Nikolsky district, Penza region. He served in Red Army since 1940. At the age of 19, he was drafted to front by Dzerzhinsky district millitary commission of Kuibyshev region. He served as private, in infantery reconnaissance platoon, of 240th Infantry Regiment of 117th Infantry Division. In February 1942 he was sent to Kalinin Front as a recon. He was twice injured. Sergeant Nefyodov belonged to infantry reconnaissance platoonthe from the day of formation of Regiment. He took part in all combat operations of Reconnaissance Regiment. He demonstrated exceptional courage on June 8, 1943, during collision with a German reconnaissance group in Babynin-Zanogi area. He recieved award: Order of Red Star.
