From the memoirs: “I came from Saratov. There I was born, lived, studied at school, and in 1943 from there I went to the Solovetsky school of the boy. After graduation, I ended up in the Northern Fleet - there was a war ... The cruiser to which I was sent just came from the United States under Lend-Lease (a state program according to which the United States of America supplied its allies in World War II with ammunition ). They called it "MURMANSK". We accompanied American convoys on it - from Medvezh’i Ostrova to Murmansk or Arkhangelsk. During the war in the Northern Fleet, we carried out the so-called "10th STALIN IMPACT" (1944). After that, many of us were awarded medals.
