Tereshchenko Semyon Sergeevich was born in 1903. In the first days on the front line, after a head wound he was treated in a hospital, there was no news from him for a long time. He was in captivity, escaped from captivity together with four soldiers at night, killing a sentry. They walked home for almost a month, walked at night hidding during the day. Overgrown with a beard he knocked on the window on one of the clear nights: “Polina, open. It is me, Semyon”. In the morning he washed, shaved and went to the recruiting office, from there went to the military unit. He was wounded in the leg in 1943 and sent a photo for his daughter Raisa (she was only two years old). Then he spent three days with his family and again went to the front. He reached Germany, celebrated the Victory say there. In summer of 1945 he sent a letter: “wait, I'm alive, I'll be back soon”.
