Klykov Ivan Semyonovich

KLYKOV IVAN SEMYONOVICH (23.06.1923 — 25.12.2013) On June 23, 1941, my grandfather turned 18 years old, and he volunteered for the front. He fought in the Leningrad direction, covering the distant approaches to Leningrad and the Baltic states. The Germans captured Narva, and the Soviet units were surrounded. The fighting went on for two days, and Ivan Semyonovich was taken prisoner, seriously wounded in the lung (the splinter remained for life). He went through many concentration camps in Estonia and Germany. It was only liberated by the allied forces in 1945. After the war, he remained to serve in the army - part of it was stationed in Austria. After completing his military service, he returned to his homeland in the village and got married.
