Kazakov Mikhail Nikolaevich

Mikhail Nikolayevich Kazakov (born November 7, 1920) - Guard Senior Lieutenant, flight commander of the 8th Guards Assault Regiment of Theodosia. On the fronts of the Second World War - from September 1943, he fought in the Air Force of the Black Sea and Baltic Fleets. Took part in the liberation of the Taman Peninsula, Crimea, Leningrad Region, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. In April 1945 he commanded a link of the 8th Guards Assault Regiment of the 11th Assault Aviation Division of the Baltic Fleet Air Force. By that time, he had flown 91 sorties, personally and as part of a group of 17 enemy ships, for which on April 20 he was awarded the title of "Hero of the USSR". Died on March 10, 1994.
