Alexei Sergeyevich Akhmatov before the combat flight. Petrovsk.

Alexey Sergeyevich Akhmatov (1914-1987) Participant in the Great Patriotic War, major, pilot. In 1941-1942 he fought on the Volkhov front as a commander of the 225th short-range bombing regiment. Participated in the Battle of Stalingrad as commander of a separate reconnaissance aviation squadron. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Badge of Honour, the Second Class Patriotic War and the Medal "For the Victory over Germany".
