In every family, the Great Patriotic war left its mark: someone died on the battlefields, someone went missing, someone returned home wounded, and someone was not touched by a single enemy bullet. My great-grandfather fought from August 17, 1941 to February 26, 1942. Vasily Efimovich was born in 1900. In 1941 he was drafted to the war Krivetsky district of the Kursk region and began a military shooter 7 company 349 separate regiment 26 infantry division 11 of the army of the Leningrad front. On February 26, 1942, being the "second number" of a light machine gun, he was seriously wounded during the attack on the village of Kirovka. After a long treatment in the hospital in October 1942, he was discharged from the army and returned to his native village, where his wife Praskovya and children were waiting for him. One of the children was my grandfather on my father's side. My great-grandfather, Vasily Rutskoy, was awarded the medal "for military merit" for his initiative, courage and bravery in defending our Motherland. He died in March 1957. Victory day will always remain a Great day, which is celebrated with a joyful sinking of the heart and with tears in the eyes. My great-grandfathers are no longer alive, but my family will never forget that they and millions of other soldiers who fought during the great Patriotic war saved the world from fascism. Every year on May 9, our country meets a happy peaceful spring, which was given to us by our grandfathers and great-grandfathers back in 1945. Courage and heroism, fortitude and bravery were shown in this fierce war. I am sure that we should not forget about those terrible events under any circumstances.
