Ivan Gavrilovich Arkhipov was born on June 20, 1921 in the village Privory of Pushkinogorskiy district. In October 1940 he was called up for service by the Pushkinogorsk Regional Military Commissariat and sent to 41 separate SB Dalne - Vost. Fr. In January 1942 he was sent to the courses of junior lieutenants in Komsomolsk and then, in May 1942, sent to 228 SB as a machine gun platoon commander. At the front, from June 1942, he was seriously wounded in the head on 15 August 1942, and from August 1942 to February 1943 he was treated at EG No. 1958. Demobilised in November 1945 with the rank of junior lieutenant. Invalid WWII. He was awarded the Order of Patriotic War of the 1st century, the Medal "For the Victory over Germany in WWII 1941-1945".
