Zinaida Antonova was born on 25 October 1923. On 8 August she receives a summons to the front. Before being sent to the front, she studied in Cheboksary as a communications officer. In autumn, their group is sent to the front near Stalingrad. The signalers had a lot of work to do: they had to deliver encryptions, be a forwarding agent, transmit the necessary information under fire, and when there were not enough people, they had to dig trenches, build dugouts, stand at the post as sentry troops. If necessary, they replaced the head of the expedition. Her combat path was not an easy one, she went from Stalingrad to Vienna. Romania, Yugoslavia and Hungary were liberated with the fighting, and she met Victory Day in Vienna.
