Nikolai Balabashin was born in 1923. He was drafted into the army in January 1942, and went to the front in April 1942. He served in the 563rd department of the signal battalion of the Order of the Red Star as a Sergeant Major in the positions of signalman, Assistant Commander of a signal platoon, head of the Central telephone exchange, went behind enemy lines for prisoners informers. Served until March 1947.
Awards: two Orders of the Patriotic War, two Orders of the Red Star, the medal For Bravery, For the Capture of Konigsberg, for the Victory over Germany and other medals for the capture of cities and for anniversaries. Received 16 commendations from the Supreme Commander.
Nikolai Balabashin died on September 27, 2002.
