Major Grigory Kumpyak

Grigory Kumpyak - born in 1914, veteran of the Great Patriotic War. Guards First Lieutenant, Chief of Artillery of the 100th Guards Rifle Regiment. Called up by the Novosibirsk District Military Commissariat, Novosibirsk Region. He served in Border Guard from 1935 to 1937. In 1939, He graduated from the Tomsk Artillery School and participated in the battles on Khalkhin-Gol. He went to the front in 1941. Participated in the defense of Moscow, he and his comrades were in encirclement, were able to break out of it. Had two injuries. Awarded the medal For Bravery.
