Potapov Mikhail Feofanovich (1921-1943), battery commander of an anti-tank artillery regiment, captain. Born in Baklanovskaya station. Participated in the defense of Stalingrad and the liberation of the Kursk region. On July 6, 1943, Captain Potapov's battery knocked out 18 tanks, including 7 "tigers", destroyed up to 150 Nazi soldiers and officers. On July 8, 1943 he died in a battle near the Ponyri station (Kursk region).
