He had a right hand injury and could not take direct part in the fighting, but in March 1942 he was called up by the Borsky RVC of the Gorky region, joined the red army as a cadet of the accelerated course of the Arzamas machine-gun and mortar school, which he successfully graduated in November 1942 with the rank of second Lieutenant of the red army. From November 1942 to August 1947, Alexander Mikhailovich served in the Moscow military district, in the remote Kirov forests, in the military anti-aircraft school as a platoon commander.Graduates of this school during the great Patriotic war were girls-anti-aircraft gunners-defenders of the sky . Just like all the people who remained in the rear, Alexander Mikhailovich lived and served under the harsh laws of wartime - every minute he was ready to repel any enemy attack, repeatedly transferred funds to the needs of the front and donated blood for wounded red army soldiers. None of our relatives will deny the fact that during the great Patriotic war, Alexander Mikhailovich played a huge role in the fate of his younger brother Yuri Mikhailovich, practically determining his fate as a future career artillery officer in the Soviet Army. Dolev Yuri Mikhailovich was the youngest son in the family and at the beginning of the war was still young to go to the front.He helped on the collective farm, herding horses and breaking them. In 1943. his older brother Alexander, who served in the Moscow region, took the sixteen-year-old Yura to the unit.Yuri remained there as the son of the regiment.A few months later, he was enrolled in the Tbilisi artillery school. He went to the front in April 1945. Yuri Mikhailovich connected his later life with artillery. After the end of the great Patriotic war, Alexander Dolev remained in service in the active army. At the end of 1946, Alexander Mikhailovich was awarded the Medal "for the Victory over Germany in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945" and awarded the next rank of Lieutenant in the Soviet Army. From August 1947 to February 1952, he served as an officer of the district military Commissariat on November 09, 1953, Dolev Alexander Mikhailovich was dismissed to the reserve. Alexander Mikhailovich finished his studies at the Gorky Construction technical school, which was interrupted by the war. On may 7, 1955, Alexander Mikhailovich married Doleva (Smirnova) Tamara Ivanovna. In 1956, they had a daughter, Marina. In the following years of his life, Alexander Dolev was an excellent specialist in his profession. For many years, he worked as the head of the design and estimate group in the Gorky territorial resort administration, as well as the chief project engineer at the Gorkovgiproselkhozstroy design Institute. Alexander Mikhailovich does not have as many military awards as real front-line soldiers, but the Motherland also noted his modest participation in those harsh and merciless years.
