When the war started, she had just graduated from the Perm Medical Dental Institute and was assigned to work in the city of Izhevsk, Udmurt ASSR. Then she was called to the military service as a senior Lieutenant of the medical service to the front( from 30.04.1942). She served at the Ukrainian front, from April 1944 - at the 1st Belorussian front and ended the war as part of the 2nd Guards tank army. She worked in evacuation hospitals of the active army. She had to be a surgeon, a therapist and a gynecologist. Lyudmila Vasilyevna Mikhaleva was in charge of the department for receiving and providing medical care to the wounded. She provided qualified assistance to everyone, carefully cared for the wounded with no rest, made bandages and complex operations. She did not leave the wounded for days, forgetting about sleep and food. There were a lot of wounded. The Nazis bombed everything that came across, often the trains were under fire. The women were very scared. But despite all the hardships of wartime, they believed in victory. During the war, she met her love and fate, married a military doctor-Ivan Grigoryevich Fedulov and lived happily with him all her life. Sh received awards: order of the Red star - 1944, order of the Patriotic War II degree – in 1945 and the medal "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" in 1985. In 1964 she moved to Troitsk, Moscow region, where she worked as a dentist first in the Children's cardiologic sanatorium No. 20, and then as a dentist in Troitsk clinic.
