My grandfather Panasin Ivan was born in Bryansk region in the village of Epihany in a large family. His father Vasily (my great-grandfather) had a farmstead with an Apple orchard and an apiary, was engaged in the selection of Apple seedlings and shared his experience in correspondence with the famous breeder in Russia Michurin. In 1935, my grandfather Ivan married my grandmother Anna (born in 1918)and in 1936 they had their eldest daughter Tasia. And in 1939, my son Anatoly (my father) was born. Before the war, my grandfather managed to build a house and in 1941 they were expecting their third child, but the war began. Grandfather Ivan went to the front. His daughter Nina was born in the fall of 1941. He never saw her, as in 1943 he died near Kharkiv and was buried in a Mass grave in the village of Peresechnoe on Konev square. About a thousand soldiers are buried in this grave,but not all of them have names. During the war, the Germans burned down my grandfather's house, which he built, two of his daughters died-the eldest of diphtheria, and the youngest of typhus. Of the three children, only my father Panaskin Anatoly Ivanovich survived. His grandmother raised him alone, as she was widowed in 1943 at the age of 25. She lived a long life and died in 2000. My grandmother told me that my grandfather Ivan loved to dance and played the accordion very well, no holiday in the village was complete without it, and when young soldiers were escorted to the front in the summer of 1941 at the Bryansk railway station - everyone danced, sang and someone played the Russian accordion (they did not yet understand that it would be a long four years of a hard, bloody war, he felt that he was leaving forever and would never come home again. In 1941, my grandfather was only 25 years old! The war ended, my father survived, although two of his sisters died during the war, my father served in the army as a paratrooper for three years, then in 1965 he married and in 1966 I was born-the only granddaughter of Panaskin Ivan Vasilyevich. But I have three children-they are his great-grandchildren. And recently, in 2016, exactly 100 years after the birth of my grandfather, my grandson, the great - great-grandson of Ivan Vasilyevich Panaskin, was born in Germany. That's why he died in 1943: for a peaceful sky above his head, for peace in Europe, for peace between our peoples, for a bright future for future generations!
