Rank: Red army Unit: 245th rifle Valginsko-Rezhitskaya red banner division in 1907, Pyotr Ivanovich Dogaev was born in the village of Sonino, Oryol region. His parents were farmers. Since childhood, he has known hunger, various types of hard peasant labor. Then on huge and boundless territories not only full-flowing rivers bubbled, pranksters-streams rang, one after another collective farms were created. The peasant poor were United to work the land together. In the village with the affectionate name of Sonino, a collective farm named after Kalinin was formed. None of the villagers in those days did not know how to organize collective labor, helped the peasant efficiency and ingenuity. In 1928, my great-grandfather Pyotr Dogaev went to study tractor driving courses, and in 1930 the first tractor came to the village. It was as if Pyotr was effortlessly driving a powerful car across the field. In the summer, the village was slaughtered with bread, and in the fall they gathered a rich harvest. Tractor drivers were respected by everyone living in the village for their hard work, conscientiousness, generous heart, and willingness to always come to the rescue. In the summer of 1941, the war began Peter Ivanovich, like many in the village, went to the front. He was assigned to the 898th rifle regiment, 245th division. At the age of 34, he stood up for the defense of the Motherland. He fought to protect his land and was wounded several times. In 1945, he crossed the Oder. It was necessary to capture a bridgehead on the West Bank and hold it until the main forces arrived. The commander of the regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Nikolaev, understood that there was no way to break through head-on, there were few forces and people who had seen a lot in the war were tired. The commander agonized over what to do to prevent casualties and destroy the machine-gun points. Nikolaev knew his soldiers well, so he chose private Pyotr Dogaev to perform. The task was difficult. The night had come into its own. This is what Dogaev took advantage of. On a steep wave, drenched to the bone, he made his way to the Western shore. One by one, he destroyed the enemy's machine-gun points. Lay down in a crater, led a destructive fire on the enemy. The Nazis took it for a landing. The machine gun of the brave warrior worked flawlessly. Meanwhile, without waiting for dawn, Nikolaev raised the regiment and the soldiers went to cross the Oder with improvised means. Soon the regiment firmly straddled the captured bridgehead. The regimental commander expressed gratitude to Pyotr Dogaev and the army commander said that this was a heroic feat that will never be forgotten. The Motherland will highly appreciate the courage and bravery of a soldier. Only 17 sotintsy were lucky enough to cross the threshold of their home in the spring of 1945. A wounded soldier, Pyotr Dogaev, with orders and medals, and a thin white-washed duffel bag, appeared before his family. The soldier returned to the ashes, horses were stolen, there are no cows, mechanized tractor equipment is a ball-everywhere to roll, and the land is waiting for the grain grower, life goes on. He took the tractor team on his shoulders, and with teenagers and front-line soldiers who arrived, they began to collect tractors bit by bit. About Bogaevski crew talking in the area. Employees headed by Pyotr Ivanovich were distinguished by high professionalism and responsible attitude to business. Pyotr Ivanovich died in 1980. After his death, a letter came to the village from Vilnius. Lithuanian local historians found the award list of private Dogaev. Almost 40 years later, the Order of the red star and the Lenin medal were looking for their hero. They presented a five-pointed maroon order and a medal to their wife Matrena Dmitrievna. Almost 70 years ago, the Great Patriotic war ended. For history, it can be a brief moment, for people-a lifetime. Time flies like the wind, years flow like rivers.
