The faces of WWII Heroes

Oleg Alexandrovich Pashin_x000D_ CITY: Leningrad date of BIRTH: 13.06.1926 DATE of DEATH: 13.02.2013 HISTORY: My grandfather, a home front Worker, was Born Oleg Pashin in Leningrad, then the family moved to Moscow. In 1941, when the mass evacuation of residents and businesses began, the whole family moved to Ulyanovsk. There, in October 41, the Moscow automobile plant named after Stalin (ZIS) was evacuated. A 15-year-old grandfather goes to work in a factory. A month later, on November 30, the state defense Committee receives an order: workers of foundries, motor shops and others related to the production of engines should be urgently relocated from Ulyanovsk to the Urals, to the town of Miass. The workers who were sent there with their families again plunged into teplushki, including my grandfather and his family (parents and 2 brothers), to continue working at the factory and help our soldiers at the front to bring this day closer. Victory Day. At the factory, my grandfather lost his thumb on his left hand and got a severe burn on his leg (doctors barely managed to save his leg, as a result - a year in the hospital). My grandfather and his parents and brother still lived in Miass. The third brother returned to Moscow after the war. A bit from the history of the plant: In Miass, the construction of the military plant No. 316 began in 1939. In the frosty winter of 1941, day and night, directly from the "wheels", equipment was being installed in the open air, and by mid-summer a construction site and a work settlement were already prepared.Supply difficulties forced many of the plant's workshops to be built out of wood. Motor production was just planned to be organized on this construction site, to which a railway line had already been laid before the war. The first workshop of the Miass automobile engine plant started working in March 1942, and in April the first industrial batch was assembled. Initially, it was assumed that the plant would produce engines, gearboxes and rear axles for Moscow and Ulyanovsk, and supply casting to the Shadrinsky branch of Zisa. But the country was in dire need of cars, and the State defense Committee on February 14, 1943 made a new decision-to completely transfer the production of trucks from Ulyanovsk to Miass. The provincial city of merchants, artisans and gold diggers becomes the Ural capital of trucks. The first three-ton ZIS-5B rolled off the Assembly line on July 8, 1944, and on July 20, a batch of cars was sent to the front. On September 30, 1944, the thousandth car rolled off the Assembly line, and by the end of the year, despite the incomplete workshops, three thousand three-ton cars were built. Within a year from the date of production of the first cars, the factory team sent 6800 cars to the front and to the national economy. Ural trucks fought on all fronts of the great Patriotic war, bringing the Victory of our people closer.

Full name: Prutky (Prudky) Ivan Ivanovich_x000D_ last NAME: Prutky (Prudky) FIRST name: Ivan PATRONYMIC: Ivanovich CITY: Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk region. Ukraine date of BIRTH: 09.03.1916 date of DEATH: 12.04.1968 HISTORY: Title: Senior Sergeant Branch of the armed forces: Armored and mechanized troops Division: 25th tank division Prutky (or rather Pru..D..Kiy ) Ivan Ivanovich - (Communist) my maternal grandfather for some reason was conscripted to the front with a changed letter in his last name, which is why we were not immediately able to find his history in the archives. He went through the entire war from the Dnepropetrovsk region to Prague, where he finished his long campaign. My son wrote a short essay about several of his many exploits: My great-grandfather fought in the great Patriotic War, and I can be proud that thanks to the courage and bravery of his and his generation, there is peace on Earth now. My great-grandfather-Prudky Ivan Ivanovich, my grandmother's father, was a special person, correct views, a Communist, and a very cheerful and resourceful person, very fond of accordion. His father (my great-great-grandfather) Ivan Lazarevich was the head of a collective farm in Ukraine, Dnepropetrovsk region, and in his position he was not taken to the front, it was necessary to keep the farm and give bread. And grandfather Ivan himself went to the front on June 22, 1941, as soon as the war was declared from the city of Pavlograd. He served in intelligence on the front line near Belarus. And there were big losses for the enemy, thanks to our intelligence. Once a detachment came to an object right in the forest with a large number of brand-new German tanks they were specially disguised with branches. intelligence reported these tanks to the command and they were destroyed. In 1942, my great-grandfather's life was almost cut short: he was alone in intelligence, wounded in the shoulder blade, an explosive bullet grazed the lung. For two hours, he crawled under the snow, tearing it with his hands, until he got to his territory, after which he lost consciousness and was found by paramedics. After the hospital in Belarus, he was sent back to the front. He took part in the liberation of Poland , the Czech Republic , and the capture of Berlin as part of the tank forces . One early wet foggy morning, so much so that not a single meter of nothing can be seen, the order was received-to take the height. The battle began... and all of a sudden, the commander's car was hit, everyone started braking sharply, panic, and besides, there was still fog, the commander was not there. The Germans immediately sensed something was wrong, and became bolder. And here my great-grandfather jumps out on the front line and with the words "ATTACK!" - rushed along the ground like a bullet, and all the cars, as if on command, rushed into battle, and he led them into a terrible fog, not feeling his feet under him. And the crews of cars had someone to keep the alignment, so they took the set height. Grandfather Ivan was awarded the Order of the red Star, and many, many orders and medals, because he went through the whole war, to Victory, all the way to Berlin. And I can be proud of my ancestors and their good name. Glory to the war heroes!!! The Great-Grandson Of Sergey

He was a line operator in the communications company. On July 1, 1942, the division received a baptism of fire near the Kastornaya station near Voronezh. For 5 days, the division fought hard, delaying the advance of German troops. In the second half of September 1942 (September 17, based on the order of the NKO of the USSR), the division under The command of N. F. Batyuk was transferred to Stalingrad and included in the 62nd army of the South-Eastern front. Since September 21, the division's units have been engaged in fierce battles with selected units of the Nazis, who tried to capture Stalingrad and reach the Volga. In the battles for the factories "Red October" and " Barricades» Under heavy enemy fire, the connection was torn every minute and thanks to the coordinated actions of his father ,for heroism, he was awarded the medals "for bravery"and" for the defense of Stalingrad".Alexander Pavlovich saw the capture of Pauls, as he was taken out of the basement. On February 8, 1943, the division was awarded the order of the red banner and transformed into the 79th guards red banner rifle division. My father often went on reconnaissance with the hero of the Soviet Union sniper Vasily Zaitsev. He said that he counted the dead fascists with matches, breaking them and putting them in boxes. They covered themselves with one greatcoat in moments of rest and silence. After the battle of Stalingrad, the division in the 8th guards army (which it was part of until the end of the war) of the South-Western front fought hard at the Izyum bridgehead during the Izyum-Barvenkov offensive (July 17 to 27, 1943), participated in the battle of the Dnieper. Behind the Dnieper on October 13, 1943 at the Transfer station, Zaporozhye, under heavy fire, my father had to fix 15 breaks. On October 14, 8 more cliffs were bombed. For his courage and heroism, he was awarded the medal "for bravery". He had another injury in July 1944 on the territory of Ukraine or Belarus, a broken tendon in his left hand. He was sent to the hospital, he was lying in the city of Kislovodsk 32 OMSB. I want to tell you about a few episodes of that time that I heard from my father: "having Received the task of organizing communication. Taking the cable reel on his shoulder, he began to stretch the telephone line. After going a long way, I came across a den of fascists. I was scared, but I made the right decision to return and report the ambush to the command." I also know that during a fierce battle, my father received a concussion-a shell exploded next to him and covered him with earth. This was seen by his countryman and reported to the commander about the death of a comrade. He doesn't remember how long he lay there. But after the battle, during a lull, a nurse unearthed and saved him by pulling him out of the rubble. He was sent to the medical unit. Later it became known that the parents were sent a funeral. What a joy it was to see a grown-up son on the threshold of a village house in 1946! After all, after the Victory, he served in the NKVD and drove Bandera through the Ukrainian forests. On his return from service, he worked as a tractor driver on a collective farm and was "the first guy in the village" playing the accordion. My father died on October 26, 2006 from severe inflammation of the injured leg and as a result of pneumonia.

When the Great Patriotic War began, my great-grandfather was not immediately called to the front. During the first year of the war, the grandfather of armor was in his collective farm, he was given the task to hide the collective farm equipment from the Nazis and protect it. Behind the village where my grandfather lived, there was a ravine, and there his team pulled all the equipment and disguised it with branches, grass, everything they could. A year later, my great-grandfather was called to the front at the age of 39. He got into the infantry. On horseback, my grandfather brought weapons and ammunition to the soldiers, and from the battlefield took the wounded to the hospital. He saved many soldiers. Then my great-grandfather became a driver, driving a Lieutenant General. My great-grandfather went through the roads of war a lot, told me how he liberated Poland. One of the most terrible memories of that war for him was the release of prisoners from a concentration camp in the city of Lublin. In this concentration camp there was a monstrous treatment and destruction of people. Sick, hungry, weak people were forced to work hard, dissatisfied people were beaten, and given to dogs to eat. On the territory of the concentration camp there were several crematoriums where people were burned, including children. When my great-grandfather told me about it, he cried. My great-grandfather fought at the front until the end of the war and did not reach Berlin for a while. My great-grandfather was awarded medals and orders for his military services. Order of the red star, order of the Patriotic war, medal "for the victory over Germany", medal "for the defense of the Caucasus", many medals of the war participant. My grandfather and father kept them and cherish them as a memory of my great-grandfather and that terrible war. Great-grandfather experienced a lot during the war, saw many horrors, but remained a kind, sympathetic, noble person until the end of his life. He always helped his family, acquaintances, and friends in trouble. He was not broken by this brutal war. After the war, he worked in his native collective farm "Russia". He was very hardworking, loved his Homeland, his family. He lived with my great-grandmother, whom he loved very much, for 60 years. He raised three sons as honest, decent people. Already in his old age, my grandfather had to go through another war - the Chechen war, he had to give up everything and move to the children in the city of Svetlograd. He died in 1994 at the age of 83 and is buried in Svetlograd. The military enlistment office erected a monument to my grandfather as a participant in the war. We visit his grave with the whole family and take care of it. All my relatives have a bright memory of my great-grandfather Ivan Paukov.
