The faces of WWII Heroes

Before the war, Pavel Ivanovich Simonov worked as a bank manager in the town of Yuryevets, Ivanovo region, where he lived with his family. When the Great Patriotic War began, the family was waiting for the replenishment of the fifth child. On July 29, 1941, he was drafted by the Yuryevets RVK into the ranks of the Red Army. The time has come for severe trials. Pavel Ivanovich took part in fierce battles in the Moscow region, Belarus. The events of those heroic years are farther and farther away from us, almost no direct participants in the battles survived. To understand and present a complete picture of these events, documents come to the rescue. Extract from the award list for the 862 rifle regiment of the 197th rifle "Bryansk Red Banner" division: "I award the medal" For Military Merit "to the Sergeant Major of the 76 mm cannon battery, junior sergeant Pavel Ivanovich Simonov for uninterrupted and timely supply of the battery's fire platoons with ammunition and hot food. It had to be delivered "under hurricane fire" of the enemy and in swampy terrain, which helped in the success of the regiment's operation in the Dubrov area. " Terrain in the area of Dubrov village, Svetlogorsk district, Gomel region is swampy, with bushes. In some places, there are small islands, which could accommodate up to 6 people in a chain. The 197th rifle "Bryansk Red Banner" division was advancing from the right flank, its task was to cut the "highway" Dubrava - Prityki, saddle it and prevent the enemy from transferring reserves. Much blood was shed in those fierce battles. The fighter Simonov P.I., who also distinguished himself in battles in Western Ukraine, liberating the city of Sambor, made a worthy contribution to the success of the operation. This is evidenced by the documents. Extract from the award list: “During the Second World War, Sergeant-Major Pavel Ivanovich Simonov showed himself to be a brave, demanding commander towards himself and his subordinates. In the battles for the city of Sambor on July 7, 1944, with his own crew, he suppressed 2 firing points with machine-gun fire from an 82 mm mortar, dispersed the enemy's counter-offensive and destroyed up to 12 enemy soldiers and officers. " July - August 1944 was marked by the Lvov-Sandomierz operation by the troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front, during which the soldier Simonov P.I. was presented to the Order of Glory III degree. Extract from the award list: “In the battles for the“ nameless ”height on August 17, 1944, the commander of the crew Simonov showed himself to be a brave commander. When the enemy launched a counterattack, Comrade Simonov, with his crew, hit the advancing German infantry and forced it to lie down. With his mortar, he destroyed the enemy firing point: a heavy machine gun and 11 Fritzes. By his actions, Comrade Simonov contributed to the fulfillment of the battle order. Worthy of being awarded the Order of Glory III Degree. Then there was the East Carpathian strategic military operation. On November 23, 1944, in the battles for the liberation of Czechoslovakia, Pavel Ivanovich Simonov was seriously wounded, which resulted in the loss of his right eye and right arm, followed by long-term treatment and rehabilitation in Georgia. The last place of service of Pavel Ivanovich Simonov - 1000 rifle regiment, 305 rifle division, 38 army, 67 rifle corps, 1st Ukrainian front. Position - squad leader of the 6th rifle company of the 2nd rifle battalion. We bow our heads before the blessed memory of our soldiers, who defended the freedom and independence of the Fatherland in fierce battles, gave us the opportunity to live and work, raise children on the most beautiful land in the world!

In the village of Novikovo, Staro-Yuryevsky district, Tambov region, son Ivan was born in a large family of middle peasant Tikhomirov Ignat Vasilyevich and Anisia Ilyinichna on May 30, 1912. Ivan Tikhomirov was an active person, striving for knowledge. In 1931. in his village he graduated from the School of Peasant Youth (school of peasant youth), joined the Komsomol (All-Union Lenin Communist Youth Union) and honestly served the working people all his life. He continued his education at the industrial pedagogical technical school in the city of Losinoostrovsk, Moscow region, after graduating from which he worked as a mathematics teacher in the village of Borovok, Novo-Derevensky district, Ryazan region. In August 1936 he married, soon children were born - Galya and Volodya (in 1938 and 1940). The young family moved to the Moscow region, Ivan worked as the head of the Krasno-Pahorskiy RONO (regional department of public education), his wife studied at the Moscow IFLI (Institute of History, Philosophy and Literature). The world was already restless, a military threat was brewing. In 1940 he was sent to study at the Military-Political School named after Frunze of the Moscow Military District, in the city of Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod). In April 1941. assignment - to the Northwestern Military District. Military rank - junior political instructor. From the first day of the war until December 1944 Ivan Tikhomirov was in the army. In September 1941 junior political instructor Ivan Tikhomirov was sent to the North-Western Front in the 163rd Infantry Division, appointed commissar of the 1st battery, then deputy commissar of the 1st division, then - party organizer of the 365th artillery regiment. After the war, he corresponded with fellow soldiers, received invitations from the Council of Veterans of the 163 divisions, traveled to Moscow for meetings, brought group photographs of comrades in arms, returned rejuvenated and enlightened. And he was very fond of humming "March of the Gunners". Ivan Ignatievich did not talk about the war, he avoided memories. For many years after the war, he shouted at night: “Forward! For the Motherland! " Rare front-line photographs with his comrades in arms have been preserved. On one of them there is an officer on the breastwork of a trench, on the back there is an inscription: “To the fighting friend Tikhomyrych. Looking at the photo, remember the "fun" days of our "peaceful" life. I hope that after the end of the war we will find an opportunity and conditions for a meeting so that we can remember the past days with a good glass. February 6, 1944 from. Kluki, Kiev region. Signature (illegible) ". In May 1944. Mikhail Kalinin, Chairman of the USSR Supreme Soviet, presented awards to military officers. Major Tikhomirov was awarded the Order of the Red Star. His wife wrote to the front: "Vanya, I'm pregnant!" And he replied: “So many people have died! Give birth, Sashko, maybe this is our happiness! " And so it happened - daughter Tatyana was born in February 1945, Ivan was already recalled from the front to study, he was never even wounded. Fate ... To children, Ivan Ignatievich told that once during a bombing, nurse Masha pushed him into a trench, covered him with her body, saved him, and she herself was seriously wounded. He could not find her after the war, and bequeathed to his children to remember about Masha. At the beginning of 1945. Major Tikhomirov became a cadet at the military academy. When the school year ended, he brought his family to Moscow. They did not give a residence permit, which means there are no ration cards either. We lived in the office of some kind boss. The cadet rations were divided into five. Hope for the best. But one day the wife saw a rat on her youngest daughter, who was sleeping for lack of another place in a galvanized trough. The family is more expensive, he filed a report on expulsion from the academy. Transferred to the Saratov military school as a teacher, moved with the whole family. He simultaneously began to study, graduated in 1946 artillery faculty of the Higher All-Army Military-Political Courses in Moscow. My wife worked in the library of the Saratov School. The family was not assembled for long, Ivan received a new assignment - three years of service in East Germany as part of a group of Soviet troops. Without family. And again my wife waited ... In the spring of 1950. already in the rank of lieutenant colonel I.I. Tikhomirov was sent to serve in the north, in the city of Arkhangelsk. This time he is traveling with his family. The work was connected with frequent business trips, traveling, in the room there was always a "emergency case" at the ready in case of an alarm or an emergency call. They lived in a two-story barrack for 18 officer families, a common long corridor, a common kitchen with a huge wood-burning stove. We lived openly and amicably. All went through wars,men- at the front, women - at the rear. Neighbor aunt Dasha survived the Leningrad blockade. In the spring of 1958. there was a sharp reduction in the size of the Army, many front-line soldiers resigned, including Ivan Ignatievich. The military service ended, a new stage of life began. The wives returned to their homeland in the Novo-Derevensky district of the Ryazan region. The new academic year 1958 began at the Al.-Nevskaya secondary school: Ivan was a military teacher, his wife was a teacher of home economics, and later - of history. It was difficult after the city in the village without light, with a kerosene lamp, but gradually we got used to it. They built their own house, rejoiced in the garden and flower garden, friends appeared, they were well received at school. Tikhomirov I.I., a communist with 20 years of experience, began to conduct active public work, was repeatedly awarded with certificates of honor of the district party committee as a propagandist and agitator, he was respected in the team for responsibility, honesty, adherence to principles and exactingness, - the military tempering affected. The war has undermined health. Ivan Ignatievich Tikhomirov died on May 17, 1970. Memories of the daughter of Tatyana.

Our father, grandfather, great-grandfather Spirichev Veniamin Petrovich, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, served in the Far East in military unit No. 19919 ... The war with Japan was short, but fierce. The Soviet army fought against the elite Kwantung Army. Veniamin Petrovich was born on November 21, 1926 in the village of Ivankovo, Sholsky district. After finishing 7th grade, he worked at a sleeper factory in Konevo. In October 1943 he was drafted into the Red Army and sent to the Far East in the Dubovoye borough near the border. He served in the 3 Crimean division of the 8th rifle regiment of the 6th company as a private. Then he was transferred to the 88th separate communications company as a telephone operator, and later as a telegraph operator. “When they declared war with Japan, on the night of August 9-10 they crossed the Amur River and entered the Manchurian land. Here began the baptism of fire to destroy the Kwantung Army of Japan. The fortification was very strong, it was located in the hills, where no equipment would enter. Our division suffered heavy losses. Not without losses among us, communications workers. I will describe only one memorable incident. When our division fought fierce battles to capture the fortified area in the hills, our separate communications company provided communications between the division headquarters and the regiment. Communication with the division headquarters was cut off. Me and two other signalmen were urgently sent to restore the telephone line. The area was fired upon by Japanese suicide bombers. Around the hills and a short, human-sized oak tree. We walked one after another at an interval. Suddenly we were fired upon. All three of us immediately fell and crawled away in different directions. After a while, the second and third shots followed. One of the comrades was mortally wounded. Not far from this place, a squad of reconnaissance soldiers was ambushed. They heard shots and went to meet them. A firefight began. My friend and I went further to fulfill our task. Soon the damage was repaired, the connection was restored. A detachment of reconnaissance soldiers, tied to a tree, as we learned later, was destroyed by Japanese suicide bombers . When we went back, we decided to shorten the distance. From the hill on which we were, we could see our own unit and the front line, where battles were going on to destroy the fortified area. When we went down from the hill into the hollow, went out onto the road, carts with wounded soldiers came to meet us. The seriously wounded lay on the carts, but easily walked behind the carts. I saw a wounded friend from Konev, Nikolai Ivanovich Afanasyev, walking by. After a short conversation, we moved on, but lost our bearings. We were at the forefront. We turned back. Then we approached the barbed wire fence and were ambushed. Later we learned that there were soldiers in the ambush. And it turned out like this. Our troops, having liberated a part of the fortified area, which was surrounded by a wire fence, left several soldiers disguised in weeds at each bunker. And so, when we drew level with these pillboxes, we heard: “Stop who is coming!”. We answered: "Ours". And it could have been different, if they would not have shouted at us, but would have opened an automatic fire. I have awards: the Order of the Patriotic War, II degree, the medal “For the victory over Japan. After seven years of service he was demobilized in October 1950 ”- from the memoirs of Veniamin Petrovich Spirichev. Dad was awarded medals: "For the victory over Japan", "30 years of the Soviet Army and the Navy", "25 years of victory over Germany."

Grigory Leontyevich has been living in our village for a long time. For many years he worked in the fields of his native collective farm. It seems that this person is not remarkable in any way, but if you start talking to him, you get the feeling that you have known Grigory Leontyevich for a very long time, that you know his whole life, lived in his own way, heroically. During the Great Patriotic War, Svistelnikov was an ordinary soldier; a soldier who defended our sacred land with his chest. The war lasted more than a thousand days. But Grigory Leontyevich especially remembered the day of January 15, 1942. The events that will be discussed took place on the Karelian front. “Early in the morning of January 15, we were ordered to cross the lake,” says Svistelnikov. - All the fighters lined up and prepared to carry out the order. Behind me stood a very young guy, Ukrainian, and looked at everyone with frightened eyes. I asked, "What's the matter? What happened?" The guy replied that in childhood, an incident happened to him that he would never forget. He played with his peers on the bank of the river, someone pushed this boy into the water, and he began to sink. The guys thought he was joking and did not pay any attention to the "joker". Fortunately, the forester was nearby, it was he who saved the boy. So, and now the guy was afraid of water, but this psychological barrier, this disease had to be overcome. When we started to move along the lake (the water in it was frozen), this boy started muttering something to himself, and I heard: "I'm not afraid! I shouldn't be afraid, because I'm a soldier." And I walked and thought: "Yes, this lad's childhood was interrupted too early. So, in order for our children and grandchildren not to have such a childhood, we must definitely win!" At a halt, I went up to the boy (his name was Vasily) and saw that he was all beaming: "You see, comrade Grisha, I overcame my weakness. This is forever." Later I learned that this boy was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, he died in the battles for the city of Bucharest. I really remember this Vasilek, I often remember him, so I told you about him. "

Klim was born to the family of Old Believers Dmitry Pavlovich and Varvara Dmitrievna in the village Bakaly of the Bashkir ASSR. In childhood, his family was dispossessed. The father managed to escape, and the mother, along with numerous children, lived in the baths of fellow villagers who took pity on her. All clothes and property were taken away and no work was given. Klim tended cattle and ate what the owners of the cows gave. After a while, everything was settled, the house was returned, and Klim, like all the other children, was able to study at school. His disposition was mischievous and hooligan, all the girls were afraid of his jokes. The war has come. It is known that the Old Believer faith does not allow killing other people. But Klim, as soon as he was 18 years old in December 1943, went to the army. He was first sent to study as a cook, and he took the oath to the school. After excellent studies, he went to the front line as a cook. During the service it was difficult, more than once he came under fire and ended up behind enemy lines along with his kitchen. A soldier's proverb says "You can postpone a war,but never a lunch." Food was prepared on the go and even during the battle. The driving force was mainly the horse. The cook himself procured water and wood for the stove. Firewood was always damp and so they used kerosene to light it up. So a cook without eyebrows, but with guns brandished is a common thing. Everything edible was used for food, that which could be obtained and was due in allowance. Killed a horse, so there will be horse meat for dinner. Since the soldiers were from multinational republics and different religions, sometimes they had to be cunning, for example, Muslims told pork that it was a goat. I learned to cook both Uzbek pilaf and Ukrainian borscht. Many times there were situations when the field kitchen was attacked by the Germans. So once the Germans were so carried away by the pursuit of the kitchen that they found themselves in the disposition of our troops. In the company, as it turned out, the commander was killed, and Klim, turning around, led the soldiers into battle and won the victory. For this he was thanked. Another time, on the river Odr, having left to collect water for the kitchen, Klim saw a group of German soldiers. And in the process of an unequal battle, he managed to capture a German corporal, deliver him alive to the location of our unit. For this feat, he was awarded the Medal of Courage in February 1945. As it is written in the presentation, after all this, he also "fed the soldiers a delicious dinner." Children born in 1926 were called cannon fodder. The survival rate was extremely low. They were young 18-20 year old guys with a warm heart, without any experience, rushed into battle with determination and died one after another. In the battles, Klim was wounded. During the shelling, he was concussed and almost completely covered with earth, only his hand remained on the surface. They found him on this protruding hand, dug him up and sent him to the hospital. Klim's dream of becoming a tanker could not come true for health reasons, but he managed to become a driver of a self-propelled vehicle (self-propelled gun). And he met the end of the war in Berlin as part of the 222nd 33 A of the 1st Belorussian Front. 33 Army, 43 separate self-propelled artillery battalion. After demobilization, he went to Riga for peat extraction where he met his wife Varvara Karpovna Dubenkova (a war veteran, originally from the Smolensk region) and their daughter was born. Then he went home to Bashkiria, where he was reunited with his father's family. He worked as a driver, and then as head of mechanical workshop in an oil organization. For some time he lived in the village of Oktyabrsky and built a house there. Then he lived in the r.p. Dyurtyuli. Because of wounds and heart problems, my grandfather did not become early, he died at the age of 47, was buried on a mountain in Dyurtyuli. Nobody has visited the grave for 30 years, and its location is unknown.

In my family, my dad's great-grandfather fought. This is Sladkov Grigory Sergeevich (father of my grandmother). Great-grandfather Grigory was born in 1902 in the Bologovsky district of the Kalinin region. In 1924 he was drafted into the army, and on November 15, 1925 he was demobilized. On July 13, 1941, the Bologovsky RVK was drafted into the army for mobilization. He fought on the Volkhov, Leningrad, Third Baltic and Second Baltic fronts since August 18, 1941.Duty position - telephone operator of the telephone and cable company, 730th separate communications battalion, 288th rifle Dnovsky division. On August 24, 1944, during the offensive operations of the division north of the city of Valga, Estonian SSR, my great-grandfather was the supervisor of the communication line going from the division headquarters to the 1012th rifle regiment. The enemy, fiercely resisting, conducted fierce artillery and mortar fire. The communication line was constantly out of order. My great-grandfather, risking his life, under the destructive fire of the enemy, quickly and skillfully corrected damage after damage. So, in a short time, 30 minutes, he repaired 8 damage and thus provided uninterrupted telegraph communication between the division command and the advancing regiment, thereby facilitating the success of our troops in the offensive. On September 9, 1944, Sladkov Grigory Sergeevich was awarded the medal "For Courage" for exemplary performance of a combat mission, for his courage and valor. On March 12, 1945, during the offensive operations of the division in the city of Saldus, the Latvian SSR, my great-grandfather and the Red Army soldier Mukhtar Alikulov received a combat mission: to establish a cable communication line from the observation post of the division commander to the assault group of the 1016th rifle regiment. Despite the shelling of the enemy, risking their lives, Sladkov and Alikulov established a communication line on time and provided the division commander with telephone communication with the assault group fighting the enemy, thereby contributing to the success of our troops in the offensive. On March 30, 1945, my great-grandfather and his comrade Mukhtar Alikulov were awarded medals "For Courage" for their displayed bravery. On March 23, 1945, due to a wound in his right arm, Grigory Sergeevich Sladkov returned home. The dead will not be reminded of that terrible war, so we should know as much as possible about them. It is the duty of all those living today to remember them, because they paid for our lives with their ones ...

From our family, three people participated in the war, among them: my grandfather was tortured to death in a concentration camp in the Krasnodar Territory, my uncle was drafted in 1940, he served in the city of Lodz. Part of it was located three kilometers from the border and in the first minutes of the war, he died for his homeland. And the third participant in this war was my dad. He returned from the war as a disabled person of the second group. Father was drafted into the army when Pyatigorsk was liberated. From here the hard soldier's path began. He took part in the liberation of Ukraine, Poland, East Prussia. By profession, he was a regimental sapper. This case was in Poland. The command gave the assignment, to take "tongue" before the general offensive of our troops. All types of army reconnaissance began, as they say, the hunt for "tongue". Here is a group in which dad took part went on reconnaissance and for a long time could not take the language "Moving towards the enemy's defenses, they cleared the minefield, where they caught their dawn. They went about 200 meters away from the enemy front line, and found a German house during the retreat. it was already on the eighth day when they managed to take "the tongue" with a fight. For this feat, my dad was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree. After the general offensive, our troops overcame the enemy defenses, liberated Poland and began to advance towards East Prussia. Moving forward, our troops however, had losses. Prussia was already a fascist territory. Our soldiers fought fiercely for every meter of this land. The Germans were strongly defended here, as they felt that they would end. Liberating the territory from the enemy, the troops crossed the Oder River, and having captured the city of Ollau, our troops successfully advanced forward. After walking two hundred kilometers from this city, on February 15, 1945, my dad was seriously wounded. He lost his leg while clearing a minefield. They cleared this field for further advance of our troops forward. On this day, my dad at the age of nineteen remained disabled for the rest of his life. Due to this serious injury, he was treated in hospitals for 27 months. During the period of his battle, he received government awards. 1. Order of the Patriotic War of the first and second degree. 2.Medal "For Victory over Germany" 3.Medal "50 years of the Armed Forces of the USSR" 4.Medal "20 years of Victory" 5.Medal "25 years of Victory" 6.Medal "For Valorous Labor" 7.Order of Glory, second and third degree 8. Order of the Red Star and many more medals. I am writing on behalf of my father: I, as a defender of my Motherland, wish the young generation a peaceful and happy life, so that there would be no horrors of war on their way of life. I wish all the young generation to live merrily and joyfully under the clear sky of the Motherland.

From the small village of Stalinaul (now Atlanaul, Buinaksky district of the Republic of Dagestan), located on the Kumyk plain, 139 residents went to fight the fierce enemy. 66 aul residents did not return from the battlefields with the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War. Six Sungurov - brothers: Abduragim (born in 1898), Basir (born in 1903), Abdulkadyr (born in 1909), Magomedsaid (born in 1913), Ziyavutdin (born in 1915), as well as Basir's son Sungur (born 01.01.1925) went to the front at the call of their hearts. Sungur corrected his date of birth - he added himself exactly one year, and volunteered. And in 1920, Basir Sungurovich, being a 17-year-old youth, as part of the II Cavalry Regiment named after Makhach Dakhadayev, fought as a volunteer against gangs in the Tersk region. He served in this regiment until 1921, until he was demobilized due to his young age. Most likely, the third of them, Sungurov Abdulla Sungurovich, born in 1906, would have gone to the front together with the brothers. But, unfortunately, in 1936, before going to the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy in Moscow, he died suddenly. By that time, he was not only a comrade-in-arms of a participant in two All-Union Congresses of Shock Workers-Collective Farmers, chairman of the Stalin Daibov collective farm Jamalutdin, but also a famous foreman, an innovator and organizer of collective agricultural production. In the pre-war peaceful life, each of the Sungurovs was busy with his own business, loved and useful to his family and society. Before the formation of an agricultural artel in the village, and later a collective farm, the brothers worked with their father in workshops, in personal subsidiary plots. And they worked fruitfully in various positions both on the collective farm and in the village. Sungurov Ziyav (Ziyavutdin) Sungurovich (1915 (1919) - 10/07/1995), according to the recollections of his youngest son Gichchikhan, began his labor activity from early adolescence as a cabman in a vegetable brigade of the Stalin collective farm. In 1938 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. He was awarded the military rank - sergeant. After demobilization from military service, not having time to start civilian life, he was called up again, but this time to the front. From June 1941 to May 1942, he was the commander of the rifle squad of the 131st rifle regiment of the 1st Guards rifle division of the Smolensk front. On January 17, 1942, in fierce battles near the city of Smolensk, he was seriously wounded by an explosive bullet. Later he was declared unfit for further military service. Residents of Atlanaul remember how Hamid Halimbekov, fellow villager and fellow soldier Ziyav Sungurov, while he was alive, spoke with gratitude about how Ziyav saved him from death. In one of the bloody battles with the German invaders, Hamid was seriously wounded. Under the bullets, Ziyav pulled him from the battlefield and dragged him to the medical unit. Upon returning home, he continued to work on the collective farm. Stalin. For his organizational skills, first at the collective farm, and then at the Atlanaulsky state farm and until his retirement, he was appointed Odaman (senior shepherd) of a sheep farm, head of a dairy farm, senior security guard, foreman of various brigades. Those who worked under him note his organizational skills, leadership qualities, responsiveness. When carrying out public works, including during the liquidation of the consequences of the earthquakes of 1970 and 1975, as well as in collective work during the construction of residential buildings of fellow villagers, providing them with other assistance, he was one of the first who showed care and charged with optimism and hope, remained the initiator of good deeds. Sungurov Ziyav and his wife Patimat raised and brought up three sons and two daughters. In May 1945, the invalid of the Great Patriotic War of the 1st group, Sungurov Ziyav Sungurovich, was awarded the medal “For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, in October 1954 - the medal “For Labor Valor”. Awarded the title of "Labor Veteran". In 1985 he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree. The family archive also carefully keeps Ziyav Sungurovich's jubilee medals, such as 20, 30, 40, 50 years "Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945"; 60 and 70 years of the "Armed Forces of the USSR" and others. It turns out that in November 1947 Z. Sungurov was awarded a medal "For Military Merit" for the feat he accomplished on January 17, 1942. And only in May 2020, relatives found out about this. 75 years of the Great Victory! They didn't live. But ... They fought not for awards, but for life! For the life of family and friends. For life in the native land. For the life and freedom of the Motherland!

Sungurov Abduragim Sungurovich (1898 - April 1970) on the eve of the war was in charge of the collective farm bakery. In May 1942, he was drafted by the Buinaksk RVK. He was a signalman. His life turned out to be saturated with the pain of the loss of fighting friends, the joy of the liberated inhabitants of cities and villages. As part of the 1st Belorussian Front, he participated in the Berlin offensive operation. Courage and bravery, love for his native land gave him the strength to finish off the Nazis in their lair - Berlin! Our soldier-liberator from his native doorstep, defending the Caucasus, marched half of Europe with battles, halfway across the ground and reached Berlin. For feats of arms Abduragim Sungurov was awarded medals "For the Defense of the Caucasus", "For the capture of Warsaw", "For the capture of Berlin", "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." After the Great Patriotic War, he worked for a long time as the secretary of the village council in Atlanaul. In the memory of fellow countrymen, he remained a responsible person and attentive to other people's pain and concerns. Sungurov Abduragim and his wife Jahbat raised and brought up two sons and three daughters.

Sungurov Sungur Basirovich was born in the village of Stalinul, Buinaksk district, Dagestan ASSR on January 01, 1925 in the family of Basir Sungurovich. After graduating from a rural school, he entered the Buinak medical school. But the desire to get to the front and beat the Nazis turned out to be stronger. The military registration and enlistment offices in Dagestan refused to call him because of his age, he was not 18 years old. Then he decides to leave for Rostov-on-Don, where he corrects his age in the documents for one year, as he was born on January 1, 1924, and volunteers to go to the front. Sungurov Basir Sungurovich (1903 - 11/23/1969) - my grandfather. In the distant 20s of the twentieth century, for active participation in the formation and development of education, educational and spiritual asceticism, fellow villagers respectfully addressed my grandfather Basir-Muallim, which means Basir-Teacher. In 1925 he entered the Buinaksk Pedagogical College, after graduating from which in 1927 he began to work as a teacher at the Stalinul school, in 1932 he was appointed its head. Already in 1937, after successfully graduating from the Dagestan State Pedagogical Institute, Basir Sungurovich was appointed director of the Stalinul seven-year school. In March 1942, to mobilize the Buinaksk RVK, Basir Sungurovich was sent to the 20th mountain rifle division, where on May 1 he took the oath of office as a rifleman. The division was part of the active army during the Great Patriotic War from November 23, 1941 to January 28, 1942, from May 15, 1942 to April 21, 1944. The division entered into combat contact with the enemy in the area from the Belorechensky pass to the Aishkha Kavkaz pass. Thanks to good mountain training, it successfully fought in the highlands. So, in August 1942 - battles under Mount Fisht on the Belorechensky pass and on the Umpyr pass, in September 1942 - battles on the Urushten river, Pseashkho pass. In the North Caucasian Front, in January 1943, the division was fighting for the Lambin Hill, near the village of Smolenskaya, and in February 1943, the battle and the capture of the village of Smolenskaya. Then, in February - the capture of the villages of Grigorievskaya, Severskaya, Ilskaya. February 20, 1943 - Kholmskaya was liberated. Since February 21, 1943, they have been fighting for Merechanskaya and the Vesely farm. On March 24, 1943, units of the division captured the Novy and Vesely farmsteads. The 20th Mountain Rifle Division became a twice Red Banner Order of Suvorov division. In March 1943, Basir Sungurovich was demobilized from the ranks of the Red Army. However, he does not stop hard work in the name of victory in the rear. From 1943 until his retirement in 1964, Basir-Muallim was the permanent director of the school and a wise mentor of more than one generation of Atlanaul residents. Workshops were built at the school in 1963. Under the leadership of B.S. Sungurova teachers and high school students with their parents built their own school gym. During these years, the school becomes 8 years old and is recognized as a basic, exemplary school in the education system not only in the Dagestan ASSR, but also in the RSFSR. At the same time, a team of teachers under his leadership prepared the transition of the school to a 10-year education system, that is, to a 10-year school. Basir Sungurovich and his wife Totugush raised and brought up six sons and two daughters. Basir-Muallim became the founder of a large teaching dynasty of the Sungurovs, the total work experience of which is almost 900 years. Sincere and pure love, an inquisitive mind and life success of students, respect and faith of their parents, are the highest recognition of the merits of the Sungurov teachers. And the state noted the significant contribution of the representatives of the dynasty to the development of education. In particular, the eldest daughter, Rosa, was awarded the honorary badge "Excellence in Education of the RSFSR", the youngest daughter, Zagidat, was awarded the titles "Honored Teacher of the Republic of Dagestan" and "Honorary Worker of General Education of the Russian Federation", son - Akhmedpasha, founder and director of the first rural music school in Dagestan , was awarded the honorary title "Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Dagestan", and his grandson Rashidbek was awarded the honorary title "Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation". At the beginning of his military career, Vasily Grigorievich fought as part of the 50th separate ski brigade, which at that time was carrying out combat missions in the city of Maloyaroslavets, Kaluga region. At that time, the brigade consisted of about 5 thousand fighters. From the memoirs of Vasily Grigorievich: “For camouflage purposes, the soldiers were forbidden to make noise, light fires and smoke. Due to the lack of an opportunity to warm up in the harsh winter conditions, many fighters received frostbite. In one of the battles our brigade was taken by the Germans into a “ring”, from which only 52 fighters managed to get out alive. " After defeats in fierce battles, the 50th Separate Ski Brigade was disbanded. Vasily Grigorievich was sent to the city of Kozelsk, Kaluga region, where he was enrolled in a mortar brigade. From the memoirs of Vasily Grigorievich: “The guns (mortars) had to be moved with the help of skis, sleighs and horses, it happened that the soldiers themselves pulled the guns. Then our brigade made long campaigns behind enemy lines. " In July 1943, Vasily Grigorievich took part in the Battle of Kursk, which is considered one of the key battles of World War II and the Great Patriotic War. From the memoirs of Vasily Grigorievich: “The battles were terrible: the deafening noise of guns, the roar of engines of tanks, aircraft, the howl of exploding mines - many of the fighters could not stand their nerves, their ear membranes burst. The area was literally strewn with the bodies of our dead soldiers and Germans, everywhere there was equipment scattered with mines: tanks, mortars. The hot summer period contributed to the spread of the eerie smell of decomposing dead bodies. The funeral teams did not have time to collect the bodies of the dead fighters between battles. I remember how we were given a 3-day food ration before the battle. We all understood then that this day could be the last for each of us, besides, the supply of food to the front was very poor, the soldiers were practically starving. In general, we then dealt with the 3-day ration in one fell swoop, put on the clean clothes given to us the day before ... ”From the battles that took place on July 11 and 12, 1943 on the Kursk Bulge, as a result of an attack by German aviation, from two batteries, consisting of out of six mortar crews each, only 11 soldiers survived: 8 people - from one and 3 people - from the second battery, including Vasily Grigorievich. Despite the huge losses of the Soviet Army in the battles on the Kursk Bulge, the defensive operation turned into active offensive operations and the Germans were driven back to Kharkov. For participation in the Battle of Kursk, Vasily Grigorievich was awarded the medal "For Courage". There he received a bullet wound in the leg. After the Battle of Kursk, the remnants of the mortar brigade, in which Vasily Grigorievich fought, were transferred to Moscow, and then became part of the Belorussian Front. From the fall of 1943 to the fall of 1944, Vasily Grigorievich participated in the liberation of Belarus from the Germans. From the memoirs of Vasily Grigorievich: "The lands in Belarus were swamp, it was impossible to dig a dugout: there was already water for 2 bayonets of a shovel." In late 1944 - early 1945, Vasily Grigorievich took part in the liberation of the countries of Eastern Europe (Latvia, Poland) and Germany from the German occupation. Until August 1945 he served in Germany. With the rank of sergeant in 1947, he was demobilized and returned home, to his native land, where his relatives and friends were waiting for him. After the war he lived most of his life in the village of Kalinovka, Partizansky District, Krasnoyarsk Territory, worked on the collective farm named after Lenin. He was a hardworking, fair person, brought up four children. He rarely spoke about the moments spent in the war. Our hero passed away in October 2011 ... But his great feat, like the feat of millions of Soviet people, will never disappear from the memory of our ancestors!
