The faces of WWII Heroes

Original image: Finishing the cleansing of the Belarusian land from Hitler's scum and before our troops entered Polish territory, the enemy stubbornly resisted our advancing units, going over to counterattacks, throwing large forces of tanks and infantry into battle. Stubborn battles broke out in the area of height 165.3 7 km south-west of the city of Zambrov, where the regiment successfully repulsed all enemy counterattacks. In the photo: German tank "Tiger" hit by well-aimed fire of the 5th battery (battery commander, Captain Konokhov), which, like many others, was permanently out of order.
