My grandfather - Khazheev Ivan Shanidaevich was born on 03/23/1920 in the village. Tatuy Ekhirit-Bulagatsky district of Irkutsk region. When he was 5 years old, his mother died. From the age of 9, my grandfather worked in the commune, while working in the commune he studied in high school. In August 1942, 270 SDKD took up defensive positions along the left bank of the Don River. On January 16, 1943, a division as part of the 6th Guards Army, in which my grandfather fought, took part in the Ostrogzh-Rossoshan military operation. On January 29, 1943, the city of Stary Oskol was liberated, by 01/27/1943 the Ostrogzh-Rossoshan operation was completed, as a result of which 15 enemy divisions were destroyed and surrounded. On February 16, 1943, 270 SDKD was the first to enter the city of Kharkov and, together with other units of the Red Army, successfully liberated. In March 1943, the division fought stubborn battles in the area of ​​Poltava, was surrounded, in April-May 1943, withdrew from the encirclement. From July 17 to July 28, 1943, my grandfather took part in a grandiose battle - the Kursk Bulge in the Belgorod direction, on July 26, 1943 270 SDKD liberated the city of Belgorod, for which the Commander-in-Chief issued an order. On September 21, 1943, the city of Demidov was released, for which the 270 SDKD was named "Demidovskaya". Since the fall of 1943, my grandfather fought in Belarus, liberating such settlements as: Bolshie Zhary, Zvezda, Avdeevsky forest. On July 4, 1944, the city of Polotsk was liberated, for which 270 SDKD was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. On July 27, 1944, the city of Daugavpils and about 200 settlements in Latvia was liberated, participated in the defeat of the Kurland group of Germans. 05/09/1945 my grandfather met on the shores of the Baltic Sea. My grandfather went through the war from private to senior lieutenant - battery commander; from June 1941 to May 1945, he was twice shell-shocked, repeatedly wounded.
